FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
If you are a college student interested in learning more about the agricultural industry there may be opportunities for you to gain knowledge and experience by working with a member of NICCA. Many of NICCA’s members employ interns to help scout fields in the summer. Contact a NICCA member in your area for more information. NICCA also supports student organizations such as the Nebraska FFA, Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute and The Nebraska Youth Crop Scouting Competition.
NICCA SCHOLARSHIP
NICCA shall award scholarships to qualifying students seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree in the field of agriculture. The scholarships will be awarded at the NICCA Annual Meeting held in December. The NICCA scholarship committee will determine scholarship winners and size of the awards.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY:
Experience as a summer intern with an individual or company who is a NICCA member.
TOP CONSIDERATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Preference will be given to students interested in pursuing employment in the crop consulting profession upon graduation.
Preference will be given to students seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree in the field of agriculture.
A high degree of consideration will be given for students with a recommendation from a NICCA member summer employer.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Applicants must complete an application form and provide a short essay – no longer than one page – on their experience as a summer intern while working for a NICCA member and how this experience will be used as they seek employment after graduation.
